Edexcel International GCSE · 4MA1

Edexcel iGCSE Maths.
Resources that actually fit.
Your spec. Not someone else's.

Most maths resources are built for UK GCSE and quietly don't fit iGCSE. If you've patched around that for years, this is what you've been looking for. Every resource here is built specifically for the Edexcel International GCSE specification — different content, different paper structure, the qualification your students actually sit.

First things first

iGCSE is not GCSE.
We treat it that way.

UK GCSE (1MA1)
  • · Three exam papers per tier
  • · Calculator and non-calculator papers
  • · Statistics included throughout
  • · Foundation cap at grade 5
Edexcel iGCSE (4MA1)
  • · Two longer papers per tier
  • · Calculator allowed on both
  • · Statistics excluded at Foundation
  • · Higher-only content includes functions

If you teach 4MA1, you already know most tools default to UK GCSE and miss half the spec. We don't.

Spec alignment

Built on the spec.
Not on guesswork.

iGCSE Maths and UK GCSE Maths are different qualifications — different content scope, different paper structures, different expectations. Resources that don't know which one you're teaching leave gaps your students will find in the exam. The 4MA1 specification is treated here as its own qualification: different content (no statistics at Foundation, harder algebra at Higher), different papers (two 2-hour papers per tier), not a re-skin of GCSE.

Why it matters: Generic AI tools write plausible-looking resources that miss spec points, use the wrong command words, or pitch the wrong tier. Edexcel iGCSE Maths resources from Print My Lesson are built on a structured database of spec points, so every question, slide, and mark scheme is anchored to what students will actually be assessed on.

Example spec coverage
  • 1Numbers and the number system
  • 2Equations, formulae and identities
  • 3Sequences, functions and graphs
  • 4Geometry — angles, shapes, circles
  • 5Vectors and transformation geometry
  • 6Statistics and probability (Higher)
  • H-onlyHigher content — functions, calculus basics
  • H-onlyHigher content — quadratic inequalities, sets

Who it's for

For iGCSE teachers at international schools and UK independents.

iGCSE is most commonly taken at international schools globally, and at UK independent schools that prefer the 4MA1 spec over AQA/OCR GCSE. If that's you, this is built for you specifically — not a UK GCSE tool with a coat of paint.

International school teachers delivering the full 4MA1 syllabus
UK independent school maths departments using Edexcel iGCSE
Teachers preparing students for the January and May/June exam series
HODs building resource libraries aligned to 4MA1, not 1MA1
Tutors working 1-to-1 with iGCSE students needing targeted practice

What teachers ask first

The questions
you're already thinking.

Does it actually know iGCSE differs from GCSE?
Yes. The 4MA1 spec is treated as its own qualification — different content scope, different paper structure, distinct from UK GCSE.
Does it handle the Higher-only content?
Yes. Higher-tier topics — including functions, advanced trigonometry, vectors at depth — are included at Higher only, as the spec intends.
Are the mark schemes useful?
Yes — they show method as well as the answer, in the kind of structured form a maths teacher would write. Useful for both teaching and self-assessment.
Is the notation properly rendered?
Yes. Maths is rendered as maths — fractions, surds, exponents, function notation. Not approximations in plain text.
Can I set the lesson length?
Yes — choose from 45, 50, 55, 60, 70, or 75 minutes when generating a lesson slide deck. The resource is scoped and timed to fit.
Will it actually save me time?
Yes — once you've generated a couple and know how it behaves. The first might take a few minutes while you find your rhythm; after that, generating a topic is faster than starting from scratch.
Finally something that knows iGCSE isn't GCSE. Most tools I've tried default to UK GCSE and miss half the spec.

Honest about where we fit

When to use us.
When not to.

We're not right for every job. Here's an honest picture of where other tools win and where we do.

Use them
Edexcel past papers
The most authoritative practice source — students should absolutely use them. The constraint is finite supply: students memorise them in mocks, and targeting a specific sub-topic is hard.
Use us
Print My Lesson
Unlimited 4MA1-styled practice for any sub-topic. Excellent for starters, intervention, and post-mock revision once the real past papers have been exhausted.
Use them
Digital homework platforms
Strong for setting and auto-marking homework. Can feel generic and harder to tailor to specific sub-topics at specific difficulties for live classroom use.
Use us
Print My Lesson
Print-ready or digital resources tailored to the exact topic, tier, and difficulty you want — built for classroom delivery, not just homework.
Use them
Generic AI chatbots
Less reliable for iGCSE specifically — they often default to UK GCSE assumptions, use inconsistent notation, and have no concept of the 4MA1 spec.
Use us
Print My Lesson
Built specifically on the 4MA1 spec, with notation rendered properly and content scope that matches what iGCSE actually demands.
